The Evangelical Church in Borgholzhausen is the only church in the associated parish in Borgholzhausen in East Westphalia in the Gütersloh district . Church and congregation belong to the Halle parish of the Evangelical Church of Westphalia . The parish extends over an area of 47.3 km² and has 4,611 parishioners.
history
The church in Borgholzhausen was built in the 14th century as the own church of the Counts of Ravensberg . In 1496 the church was rebuilt and the choir was added.
On April 23, 2007, a support association was founded, pastor Christian Eckey was elected chairman. The association is to collect donations in order to be able to renovate the ailing facade of the old church. The renovation of the church's exterior plaster began in September 2009.
Furnishing
A special piece is the so-called stone-carved altar from 1501. In front of the church there is a memorial that commemorates those who died in the wars between 1864 and 1871.
