Evangelical Church Battenhausen

The Protestant church is a listed church building in Battenhausen , a district of the municipality of Haina (monastery) in the Waldeck-Frankenberg district ( Hesse ). The community forms a Protestant parish with Hüttenrode and Löhlbach.

The building was constructed from 1779 to 1786 as a simple hall building with a mansard roof and a gable roof turret using Gothic masonry from a previous building. The wooden vault in the interior is plastered, the galleries are L-shaped.

The parish stands and the pulpit date from the time the church was built. The large altarpiece shows the scene of the Mount of Olives, it was copied by J. Schneider in 1925 based on a baroque painting. The organ was installed in 1904 by the E. Voigt workshop. The epitaph under the north gallery was made in the 17th century with the bust of the deceased. A small cast iron tomb from 1701 stands under the organ gallery.
