Evangelical Church in Niedernhausen (Fischbachtal)
The Evangelical Church of Niedernhausen is a Protestant parish church in Niedernhausen in the Darmstadt-Dieburg district of southern Hesse .
Architecture and history
The Evangelical Church in Niedernhausen at Darmstädter Straße 26 was built in 1890/1891. Stylistically, the flat-roofed hall church with a side aisle belongs to the neo-Gothic style .
The floor plan of the building is strangely arranged almost in north-south direction. At the northeast corner of the church is the slender tower with a pointed helmet . The entrance to the church is on the ground floor of the tower. The roof has a slate covering . The walls are made of natural stone . The window frames are made of red Odenwald sandstone . In the 1950s, the former neo-Gothic interior was completely renewed.
Monument protection
The Evangelical Church in Niedernhausen is the only historical church building in the Fischbachtal community. For reasons of local history, it is a listed building .
