Evangelical Church Roetgen

The Protestant church in Roetgen is from 1779 to 1782 along the lines of an Evangelical Church Odenkirchen in the style of Baroque built hall church . The model is the Reformed Church in Rheydt- Odenkirchen . Typical of a Reformed church is the unadorned exterior and interior of the building, which, however, impresses with its clear architecture. The organ and pulpit bought by the community are much older .

In 1830, the previously blunt top of the tower was replaced by the current spire, crowned with the angel of trumpets , the symbol of the Reformed people common in the Duchy of Jülich . During the tenure of Pastor Friedrich-Wilhelm Eltester, the benches were renewed and an altar was created by the Aachen sculptor Benno Werth . The rectory belonging to the church dates from 1783–1784.
