Bhanu ( Nepali भानु ) is a city ( municipality ) in central Nepal in the Tanahu district .

The city is 14 km east of the district capital Vyas . Bhanu is framed by the Marsyangdi in the east and a right tributary of the Marsyangdi. South of Bhanu is the town of Dumre , which belongs to the city of Bandipur and is on the Prithvi Rajmarg , the country road from Kathmandu to Pokhara .

The city was created in September 2015 through the amalgamation of the Village Development Committees (VDCs) Barbhanjyang and Bhanu . The urban area covers 73.5 km²

Residents

At the 2011 census, the VDCs that made up the city of Bhanu had 18,249 inhabitants (7,911 of them male) in 4,841 households.
