The evangelical reformed church is a church building in Silixen , a district of Extertal in the district of Lippe ( North Rhine-Westphalia ) that characterizes the locality . The community belongs to the Lippe regional church .

History and architecture

In a document from 1267, Abbess Gisela zu Möllenbeck transferred the parish to Lutbert von Eidenhausen.

Because the previous building had become dilapidated, the first new building plans were drawn up in 1792. In 1792, the master builder Teuck contradicted a plan submitted by a captain Meinicke, because the stone vault should be replaced by one made of wood. Two more plans were drawn up and in 1801 the miller's farmer suggested in a crack to cut the roof out of crooked wood in the form of a vault . The master carpenter Tempel took up this idea and demonstrated the execution in a preserved crack from February 18, 1802, which would have resulted in costs of 1,400 Reichsmarks . The Chamber Councilor Gehrke revised this draft on March 7, 1802: In the case of the cracks designed by the master carpenter Tempel, I find it excellent to remember that the wooden vault cannot be built because the arches made of wooden beams are not durable . By March 30, 1802, Gehrke drafted a plan with the concept of a plank lamella roof. A Gothic vault would have to be chosen for the roof, but this would have to be covered with flat tiles . The plan was approved on April 1, 1802. Initial resistance from the congregation and the preacher Speck was abandoned in order not to endanger any building subsidies. Speck put it: The new roof construction not only gives the church a good appearance, but is also recommended because of its solidity; but since it required far more work than an ordinary roof, it increased the construction costs by a few hundred thalers .

The plank lamellar roof no longer exists; its appearance is recorded in a drawing made by Emil Zeiss in 1864 .

The church tower , built in 1501, is one of the oldest preserved buildings in Extertal.
