Evangelical Church Ummeln
The Evangelical Church Ummeln is a listed church building in Ummeln , a district of the Brackwede district of the independent city of Bielefeld in North Rhine-Westphalia .
History and architecture
The brick building on five axes with a drawn-in choir closed on three sides between flank towers was built in 1896/97 according to plans by Karl Siebold . The church is kept in sober neo-Gothic forms, the tower faces west. The choir is vaulted with ribs in contrasting colors, a saddle-shaped kinked wooden ceiling was drawn into the nave. The west gallery dates from the construction time. A two-storey elevation of the nave walls suggests planned side galleries. The leaded glass windows in the choir, as well as the pulpit and lay chairs, were purchased during the construction of the church.
