The Evangelical Lutheran parish church of Zurndorf stands off the main road in the village of the market town of Zurndorf in the Neusiedl am See district in Burgenland . The church belongs to the Superintendentur AB Burgenland and is a listed building .

history

The church was built in 1787 and the exterior was restored in 1974.

architecture

The large single-nave church building has a three-story tower in front of it with a pilaster structure and a dome-shaped helmet.

The three-bay nave under square vaults between double belts on double pilasters with side walls vaulted into niches in between. The wooden gallery runs around the nave on three sides.

Furnishing

The pulpit altar from the fourth quarter of the 18th century with drawn Ionic columns and pieces of entablature stands in front of the altar wall and shows the altarpiece Jesus in Emmaus, painted by FG ​​Hertzsch (1784) in a frame with braid ornamentation. The pulpit above shows a relief of Säman on the basket. On the cover is a figure of a lamb on a volute pedestal.
