The Evangelical Foundation Volmarstein (ESV) is a diaconal organization for the disabled , senior citizens and sick people with its headquarters in Wetter-Volmarstein . Further facilities are located in the urban area of Wetter , Witten , Dortmund , Hagen , Ennepetal , Schwelm , Gevelsberg and Ivenack .
General
The Evangelical Foundation Volmarstein was founded in 1904 by the Volmarstein Pastor Franz Arndt and is active in the care of the physically handicapped and the sick. In the course of time it has developed into a complex facility for diaconal handicapped, sick and elderly care.
Over time, the name of the foundation has also been changed several times. After the initial name 'Krüppelanstalt', another name was used before it was renamed the 'Evangelische Stiftung Volmarstein'.
In total, more than 3000 children, adolescents, adults and senior citizens as well as several thousand patients are cared for in all Volmarsteiner facilities every year.
It is a legal evangelical foundation under private law.
