The Evangelical Media Association in Germany (EMVD) is an amalgamation of publishers, media and press associations, bookshops, libraries and ecclesiastical supporters of journalistic bodies. The EMVD has its seat in the joint venture of Protestant journalism (GEP), which is also entrusted with the management of the association.

History and tasks

The EMVD was founded in 2005 and has replaced, among other things, the former Conference of Evangelical Media and Press Associations (KEMPV) and the specialist conference on books and journals in the joint venture of Protestant journalism . Around 40 press associations, media houses, publishers and bookstores are currently organized in the EMVD.

The technical work is carried out in the five specialist groups publishers, editors-in-chief, marketing / sales, books and electronic media.

The association is committed to the media dissemination of Christian values ​​and promotes the publication of media of Protestant journalism. It promotes cooperation between members and advises them. The association represents its members externally. It conducts training courses and specialist conferences and presents the work of the members at masses, synods and church conventions.

Board

The chairman of the association is Dr. Roland Gertz (Evangelical Press Association for Bavaria, Munich). The deputy is Dr. Reinhilde Ruprecht (Edition Ruprecht, Göttingen). The board of directors also includes: Frank Zeithammer (Evangelical Community Press , Stuttgart) and Jörg Bollmann as director of the joint project for Evangelical Journalism (GEP, Frankfurt / M.).
