Evangelos Nessos (born June 27, 1978 in Solingen ) is a former German soccer player and today's coach of Greek descent.

Career

The professional career of the midfielder began in 2001 as a substitute for Bundesliga club 1. FC Köln , with whom he was relegated to the 2. Bundesliga at the end of the 2001/02 season. After Nessos could not establish himself in the professional squad of the club - it stayed with a total of six missions - he was ordered to the second team of the club in the regional league .

In the summer of 2004 he moved to the regional division TuS Koblenz , where he immediately became a regular player. In 2006 he rose to the 2nd Bundesliga with the club. In June 2009 he ended his active career due to injuries.

Nessos then worked in the youth department of TuS and took on tasks in the office. For the 2011/12 season he became assistant coach to Michael Dämgen, who was then newly appointed . On September 11, 2012, he was temporarily team boss as the successor to Damgen. After two games under his direction, Peter Neustädter was signed as the new head coach; Nessos returned to his former position as assistant coach. During the season, his contract as assistant coach was extended until 2015. After a poor start to the 2013/14 season, Peter Neustädter was released in August 2013. Nessos was then the new team boss of the first team. After a disappointing first half of the 2014/15 season , Nessos was relieved of his duties as team manager at TuS Koblenz on December 8, 2014.

In March 2013, Nessos was elected to the extended presidium of the association at the general meeting of TuS Koblenz and was responsible for the youth department until autumn 2014.

For the second half of the 2015/2016 season, Nessos became the new head coach of the U16 team at 1. FC Köln .
