The Evans Glacier is a glacier in the Ross Dependency of Antarctica . In the Queen Alexandra chain of the Transantarctic Mountains, it flows immediately south of the Owen Hills to the Beardmore Glacier .
Participants in a campaign from 1961 to 1962 as part of the New Zealand Geological Survey Antarctic Expedition made the name. It is named after Petty Officer Edgar Evans (1876-1912) of the Royal Navy , who died on February 17, 1912 while returning from the geographic South Pole on the Terra Nova Expedition (1910-1913) led by the British polar explorer Robert Falcon Scott was.
