Evelyn Messner

Evelyn Messner (born November 10, 1938 in Vienna ) is a former Austrian politician ( SPÖ ) and school director. Messner was a member of the National Council from 1986 to 1989 and an ombudsman from 1989 to 1998 .

Messner attended the secondary school after elementary school and graduated in 1956 with the Matura. Messner then studied teaching for German and physical exercise at the University of Vienna and graduated in 1963 with the academic degree Mag. Phil. from. As a result, from 1961 she was a teacher at the Federal College for the Clothing Industry and in 1970 rose to become the director of the Federal College for Economic Women’s Professions in Oberwart . Messner was also awarded the professional title of Hofrat. Messner was a councilor in Oberwart between 1977 and 1989 and represented the SPÖ in the National Council between December 17, 1986 and June 30, 1989, and was an ombudsman from July 1, 1989 to December 31, 1998. During her work, she mainly tried to thwart legal protection claims from exotic animals.

From 2011 to 2013 Messner was President of the Austrian Study Center for Peace and Conflict Resolution in Stadtschlaining .
