Evelyn Peters

Evelyn Peters (born April 8, 1925 in Berlin ; † 2014 ) was a German actress and author .

Peters played at the Vienna Burgtheater after attending the Reinhardt Seminar from 1944–45 . In the 1947/48 season she was engaged at the Volkstheater Hamburg. From there she moved to the Junge Bühne Hamburg for the 1948/49 season. In 1951 she went to the Deutsche Schauspielhaus , where she stayed for two seasons until 1953. In the season 1953/54 she took an engagement at Fritz Remond jr. directed small theater in the zoo in Frankfurt / Main . From 1954 she was engaged at the Hamburger Kammerspiele .

Her stage roles at the Hamburger Schauspielhaus included u. a. Martha in the comedy Do you think Constanze is behaving correctly? by Somerset Maugham (1952), Mme Frappot in the comedy The Love of the Four Colonels by Peter Ustinov (1953) and the shepherdess Phoebe in As You Like It (1953).

Between 1959 and 2004 Peters published 26 novels, 2 radio plays and 30 short stories in the Knaur , Ullstein and Piper publishers , some under a pseudonym.

Until the divorce in 1959 she was married to Heinz Joost, who owned a small company for medical equipment. The marriage had 2 children: Tina (born 1952) and the writer Bodo Kirchhoff (born 1948), who literarily processed the relationship to his mother in his 2018 autobiographical novel "Twilight and Turmoil. Roman of the Early Years".
