features

The moths reach a wingspan of 30 to 32 millimeters. Both sexes have slim bodies. The fore wings are elongated and have a pointed apex . The pale brownish fringing area is sloping and has a few light brown scales interspersed. A light brown basal line extends to the inner transverse line, which is only indicated by an oblique brownish spot distally at the tip of the basal line. A more noticeable oblique brownish line begins at the wing tip and meets the wing inner edge at 2/3 of the forewing length. There are two tiny disk spots on the front edge of the cell . The hemline is pale light brown and has small dark spots on some of the vein ends. The fringed scales are whitish and divided by two thin brown lines. The hind wings are whitish straw yellow and paler than the fore wings. The outer transverse line is indicated by a series of small dots. There are also tiny points along the outer edge of the wing. The fringed scales are white. The wing undersides resemble the upper sides, only on the underside of the forewing there is a roundish dark discal spot . The specimens from South Africa are much smaller.

In the males, the uncus is bulbous and hairless at the tip. The gnathos is wide and dagger-shaped. It has three very short, blunt apical teeth. The blades are wide, parallel-walled and have a hairy surface. The tips are rounded obliquely and the costa is thickened at the base. The folded base forms a distinct saccule . The clasper is missing. The phallus is almost straight and has a flattened base. The distal part is papillary and provided with a tongue-shaped band on which there is a cornuti group.

The female genital fittings are unknown.
