Evergestis spiniferalis is a butterfly from the family of Crambiden ( Crambidae ).
features
The moths reach a wingspan of 29 millimeters. The species resembles Evergestis pechi in size, construction and drawing of the forewings . The forewings are not olive brown, as in E. pechi , but dark brown. In addition, thin black lines adjoin the white bands and drawing elements.
In the male, the uncus shaft tapers . The gnathos tapers to a pointed apex, the apical part is provided with a number of teeth. The valves are parallel-walled and have a narrow dorsal edge. The clasper is not developed. The front part of the phallus is almost straight, the last third is angled. In the wall of the phallus there are two distal spots with sclerotized protuberances (papillae). The vesica has two groups of curved cornuti. Each group consists of two rows of cornuti. In the larger group there are seven cornuti in one group, in the smaller group there are three to four cornuti in a row.
The female genital fittings are unknown.
distribution
Evergestis spiniferalis occurs in southeastern Russia and in Central Asia in Fargʻona ( Uzbekistan ) and the region around Samarqand .
biology
The pre-imaginal stages are unknown. The moths were caught in two generations from mid-May to early June and mid-August in steppe areas.
