Evert Lundquist

Evert Viktor Lundquist (born February 27, 1900 in Gothenburg , † February 19, 1979 in Västra Frolunda, Gothenburg) was a Swedish football player .

Athletic career

Lundquist first played for IK Vega before joining Örgryte IS in 1918 . For the club, which was one of the leading national teams in Sweden in the early years of football , he took part in the championship, which was held in cup mode at the time, and in the Svenska series , which were held in league form . During his career for the club, the club won the title twice in the latter competition, the last time in 1924. In the same year he made his debut during the Olympic Games in 1924 in the Swedish national team , when they competed in the bronze match with the Dutch national team . He was involved in both the 1-1 draw in the regular game on June 8th of that year as well as the replay that was successfully designed with a 3-1 win on the following day. With his goal to make it 2-0, he made a decisive contribution to winning the bronze medal in the second game.

While Lundquist held in the sequence in the circle of the national team, he ran for the club in the 1924 as a nationwide league competition newly founded Allsvenskan . There he took first place in the league with the team in 1926 and 1928, but an official championship title was not awarded at the time. After he had played eight international matches by June 1925 , he had to wait two years for another assignment in the national jersey. In the 12-0 win over Latvia, he finally took part one last time, but wrote himself in the history books with the highest win in international history for the Blågult .

In the summer of 1930 Lundquist left Örgryte IS and joined the Göteborgs Bollklubb , where he was active for half a year. He then moved to Redbergslids IK , for which he played until the end of 1931.

Lundquist was employed full-time in Liseberg , where he took care of the safety of guests at the amusement park.
