Evi Eva , born in Elly Giese , (born December 30, 1899 in Berlin ; † January 4, 1985 there ) was a German actress .

Life

Evi Eva was born as Elly Giese in Berlin at the end of 1899. At first she worked in the cigarette business. She was discovered for the film at the age of 19 and immediately received leading roles. She often embodied Berlin brats or flappers in film comedies, and seldom appeared in films with dramatic content. In addition to her film work, she also appeared on stages in Berlin.

By the end of the 1920s she had to be content with increasingly insignificant roles, and with the beginning of the sound film era she hardly received any offers. The once well-known actress lived in very poor circumstances and moved to Munich in 1962 , but finally returned to Berlin.

Private

Evi Eva was married from January 1922 to January 1930 to the Mainz businessman Paul Oppen, who was 15 years her senior . The son Wolf-Dieter Oppen, born in Berlin-Charlottenburg in February 1923, came from this marriage. The former actress died long forgotten in Berlin in 1985, five days after her 85th birthday.
