Ewald Dreesmann

Ewald Dreesmann (born December 4, 1940 in Weener ; † July 6, 1986 there ) was a German politician ( SPD ).

After graduating from secondary school in 1957, Dreesmann began training with the Deutsche Bundespost. In 1961/62 he did his military service and became a reserve officer. Since 1964 he was a member of the SPD. He was also elected a member of the supervisory board of Stadtwerke Weener GmbH and a member of the administrative board of Kreissparkasse Leer . He was also a member of the board of the Lower Saxony City Association as the forerunner of the Lower Saxony City Council .

Since 1968 he was councilor and from 1971 also mayor of the city of Weener. In addition, he had been a member of the district council from 1968 and from 1973 chairman of the SPD district parliamentary group in the district of Leer . He was elected a member of the Lower Saxony state parliament in the eighth to eleventh electoral terms from June 21, 1974 to July 6, 1986. During this time he was Chairman of the Committee on Budget and Finance from June 23, 1982 to June 20, 1986.
