Ewald Wetscherek

Ewald Wetscherek (born March 1, 1944 in Vienna ) is a former director general of the Austrian Pension Insurance Fund .

Wetscherek studied until 1966 law and was from 1978 to 1986 director of the Main Association of Austrian Social Insurance.

Ewald Wetscherek was appointed General Director of the former employee pension insurance company on December 1, 1991. Under his leadership, the pension insurance institutions for workers and employees were merged.

For his services he was awarded the Great Silver Medal of Honor for Services to the Republic of Austria , the Austrian Cross of Honor for Science and Art, 1st Class and was awarded medals by the federal states of Vienna, Lower Austria, Burgenland, Styria and Carinthia.

Since 1962 he has been a member of the Catholic student association KÖHV Franco-Bavaria Vienna in the ÖCV .
