Evgeny Mateew

Evgeni Georgiev Mateew ( Bulgarian Евгени Георгиев Матеев ; born April 1, 1920 in Targovishte , † June 4, 1997 in Sofia ) was a Bulgarian economist and politician.

Life

Mateew studied law at Sofia University . He later worked as a professor of economic planning. In 1974 he became a member of the Bulgarian State Council . He was also a member of the Bulgarian Academy of Sciences .

Against the background of the then socialist economic system in Bulgaria, he dealt with problems of planning the national economy, economic cybernetics , the international division of labor and the expanded reproduction under socialism. Mateew was awarded the Dimitrov Prize.
