The Eternal Peace of 1634 , also the Peace of Polanów , was a peace treaty between Poland-Lithuania on the one hand and Tsarist Russia on the other. The treaty was signed on June 14, 1634 in the village of Zemlyovo near the river Poljanowka (Russian Поляновка ), between Vyazma and Dorogobusch (hence the alternative name of the treaty), and under international law ended the Russo-Polish War 1632–1634 , also called the Smolensk War.

With the exception of a few territorial changes, the peace treaty confirmed the status quo of the pre-war state, and the Russian tsar, Michael I , undertook to pay the Polish side war compensation of 20,000 rubles in gold, while the Polish king, Władysław IV. Wasa , formally renounced his claim to the Russian tsar's crown and returned to the Russian side the royal insignia of Russia, which had come into Poland's possession during the Polish-Russian War 1609-1618 . An agreement on the exchange of prisoners and a trade agreement were also agreed.

The treaty ended a series of several wars between Poland-Lithuania and its neighbors that had shaken the kingdom since the early 17th century . The 14 years of peace that followed the Treaty of Polanów were among the most prosperous in the history of Poland and Lithuania, followed by the “ Time of the Bloody Deluge ” for almost three decades from 1648 .
