Ex omnibus christiani

Ex omnibus christiani (Latin for "among all Christians") is an encyclical by Pope Benedict XIV , published on October 16, 1756. The Pope wrote to her in response to a letter from the French bishops dated October 31, 1755. He praised her loyalty to the Holy See and assured her of his personal protection and the support of the whole Church. Benedict called on the episcopate to unity and emphasized the piety of the French King Louis XV. who wanted to restore peace in his kingdom, as he had announced in his letter of December 19, 1755. Furthermore, the Pope addressed some controversies on the subject of Holy Communion . He recommended that the bishops establish a joint settlement in connection with the judiciary and the king, and gave some guidelines.
