The Excalibur Series IV is a passenger car produced by the US Excalibur Automobile Corporation .
description
Excalibur presented its fourth model in 1980 as the successor to the Excalibur Series III . The cars were significantly larger than their predecessors. The wheelbase grew by more than 30 cm to 3170 mm. The design became more independent; one could clearly see that the bodies only quoted the classic specifications. The vehicle was more similar to the Mercedes-Benz 500 K of the 1930s. On offer were the versions as a roadster with an emergency seat and a Phaeton , the latter now also being available with a permanently installed hardtop. The main drive was the 5.0 liter small-block eight-cylinder engine from Chevrolet , which delivered 147 kW (200 hp).
With a wheelbase of 3175 mm, the vehicles were 5258 mm long, 1905 mm wide and 1499 mm high.
In 1984 there were a total of 50 vehicles in the Anniversary Jubilee edition .
In contrast to the earlier models, the windshield was divided into two parts. Both bumpers were much larger than before. The taillights were rectangular. Only two hoses protruded from the side of the engine compartment on both sides, while there were three in the earlier series.
The successor was the Excalibur Series V in 1985 .
