The Excalibur JAC Cobra was a model car produced by the US Excalibur Automobile Corporation .
description
The vehicle was a replica of the AC Cobra . The roadster offered space for two people. The open body was made of fiberglass . The chassis was a ladder frame made of tubes.
A V8 engine from Ford powered vehicles. The engine had intake manifold injection , 302 cubic inches or 4949 cm³ displacement and developed 158 kW (215 hp). The engine power was transferred to the rear axle via a five-speed gearbox. The manufacturer stated a top speed of around 233 km / h . The acceleration from 0 to 96 km / h should be possible in 5.9 seconds. Four disc brakes provided the delay. The exhaust gases were cleaned by a catalytic converter .
With a wheelbase of 240 cm, the vehicle was 419 cm long, 184 cm wide and 117 cm high. The track width was 143.5 cm at the front and 154 cm at the rear. The curb weight was given as 1134 kg.
The original price started at 51,807 US dollars . Air conditioning , soft top, hard top and automatic transmission cost extra. An airbag was not available. The exterior colors yellow, red, green, blue and black are mentioned in a brochure.
In contrast to many competitors, the vehicle was only sold complete and not as a kit car .
Sales plans amounted to 200 vehicles a year. There were also plans for a more modern version.
A vehicle dated 1993 went online for $ 38,900 in December 2016.
