Excruciator is an American thrash metal band from Portland , Oregon that was formed in 2008.

history

The band was formed in 2008 by guitarist and singer Chris Birkle and his friend, guitarist Josh Kay. In the winter of 2008 bassist Craig Bridenbeck joined the cast. Although the band had not yet found a suitable drummer, they began writing the first songs. The first demo followed, which was recorded with the help of a drum computer . Through the demo, drummer Marcus Hartford became aware of the band and joined them. In the summer of 2009 the band went to the studio to record another demo. Through the demo, the group achieved appearances along with Forbidden , Cauldron , Enforcer and Witchaven . As a result, the band reached a contract with Heavy Artillery Records . Then the band began working on their debut album. The album was released in 2011 under the name Devouring .

style

The band plays classic Thrash Metal, comparable to the music of Exodus and Destruction . In some cases, influences from groups like Venom and Possessed can also be heard.
