Cauldron ( English 'cauldron') is a Canadian heavy metal band from Toronto .

history

The band was founded in 2006 by Jason Decay (vocals, electric bass) and Al Chambers (drums), who had previously played together with the heavy / doom metal band Goat Horn , which was dissolved in 2005 . As a guitarist, the band joined Ian Chains that same year, who, like Decay, was a member of the Canadian heavy metal band Thor . After the release of their debut album Chained to the Nite in April 2009, the band played some concerts as opening act for Bonded by Blood and Toxic Holocaust and went from 20 August to 22 September 2009, with the Enforcer to the North American Nightmare Tour through the United States . At the end of the year, concerts with the Swedish band Wolf in England followed , as the opening act for Municipal Waste in North America, as well as a short headlining tour through eastern Canada . Together with the bands Enforcer, Suicidal Angels and Steelwing , the band went on a European tour called Power of Metal for two weeks in May 2010 .

In August 2010, the recording of Cauldron's second album Burning Fortune began , which was released in February 2011 on Earache Records . In May a North American tour followed together with Holy Grail .
