Toxic Holocaust is an American thrash metal band that was formed in Portland , Oregon in 1999 .
history
The band was founded in 1999 by Joel Grind. Grind wrote all the lyrics himself and also played all the instruments himself and released two demos and various split releases with Radiation Sickness (1999) and Critical Mass (2002) . In 2003 he recorded the debut album Evil Never Dies .
Evil Never Dies was released in the fall of 2003. This was followed by some smaller tours. Grind also released various EPs and split releases in the following years.
The second album Hell on Earth was recorded in Grind's guest bedroom and again created by himself. The album was released in autumn 2005. The cover was created by Ed Repka .
Self-financed tours through the USA, Japan , Australia , Europe , Canada and Brazil followed for the rest of 2005 and 2006 .
In 2007 the Hell-on-Earth tour followed with bands such as Municipal Waste , 3 Inches of Blood and Skeletonwitch . Meanwhile, Grind wrote new pieces and sent them to various labels. In 2008 he was signed by Relapse Records .
After touring the US with Hate Eternal and Soilent Green , the band recorded An Overdose of Death in May 2008 at Soundhouse Recording Studios in Seattle , Washington . It was produced by Jack Endino ( High on Fire , Dwarves , Zeke ) and released that same year.
This was followed by appearances in North America on the At-the-Gates reunion tour together with Darkest Hour and Municipal Waste.
The next album Conjured and Command was released on July 15 in Europe and on July 19, 2011 in the USA on Relapse Records.

The band plays Thrash Metal, which sounds heavily influenced by punk . Toxic Holocaust is compared to bands like Venom , Discharge , Motörhead , DRI , The Exploited and Slayer .
