Zeke (pronounced 'victory') is an American punk 'n' roll band from Seattle .

Band history

Zeke released their first single in 1993, entitled West Seattle Acid Party . After several albums on the indie label Scooch Pooch Records, the band switched to Epitaph in 1998 , which made them known in the USA in the punk rock scene . They are currently under contract with Relapse Records .

In 2003, in collaboration with Pearl Jam singer Eddie Vedder, they made two contributions to the Ramones tribute We're A Happy Family .

The band released the EP Kings of the Highway in 2007 . In addition to the titles Lords of the Highway , Kings and Queens and Hay Bailer , a cover of GG Allin's song Die When You Die can be heard.

style

The band plays punk with more or less strong blues and metal influences, which is why they are often compared to Motörhead . On the earlier releases, the sound tended more towards punk, while the more recent works have more blues elements. Another feature of the band are extremely short songs (sometimes only a little more than half a minute, e.g. God of GSXR , Maybe Someday ) with an extremely high tempo. The band also developed from a more treble-oriented sound to bass-heavy sounds.
