Exechia concinna is a mosquito within the family of fungus gnats (Mycetophilidae).

features

The mosquitoes are about three millimeters long. Your body is slim and hunched, the hips are relatively long. The antennae are longer than the thorax and arise approximately in the middle of the eye level. As in all species of the genus, the eyes are separated from each other, the point eyes ( Ocelli ) are close to the upper edge of the compound eyes. The spores on the rails ( tibia ) are well developed. The wing fork M3 + 4 is behind the fork M1 and M2.

Way of life and distribution

The animals are common in Central Europe. They inhabit humid forests where the larvae in tube mushrooms , leaves mushrooms develop and rotting leaves.
