Exsudoporus is a fungal genus of the family of Dickröhrlingsverwandten (Boletaceae).
The type species is the tearful witch bolete ( Exudoporus permagnificus ).
features
Macroscopic features
The fruiting bodies that grow above ground are divided into a stem and a hat . The cushion-shaped to flattened hat is colored blood-red, purple-red, reddish-pink or reddish-brown. The matte or glossy surface is dry to a little greasy in damp weather, smooth to a little frosted or a little bit tomentose. The tube layer on the underside of the hat is attached to the stem or slightly bulged around the base of the stem. The tubes are yellow to olive-brown in color. The pores or tube mouths, on the other hand, are pale pink-red, reddish-orange, blood-red to dark red, rarely yellowish-orange or yellow. In young and fresh fruiting bodies, the tube layer is often covered with golden-yellow or amber-colored drops. The spore powder leaves an olive-brown imprint. The central stem is firm, yellowish or colored like the hat. The surface is covered with a conspicuous network of elongated, red meshes or is very honeycombed. The yellow or light yellow flesh ( trama ) quickly turns dark blue and finally blackish when cut or when damaged. The stick meat shows no discoloration ( inamyloid ) on contact with an iodine reagent .
Microscopic features
The smooth-walled spores are spindle-shaped to elliptical or elliptical-spindle-shaped. Sterile elements occur on the tube surfaces ( pleurocystids ), the pores or tube mouths ( cheilocystids ) and the stem surface ( caulocystids ). The hat covering layer ( Pileipellis ) is a trichoderm made of interwoven fungal threads ( hyphae ) with transitions to a cutis made of lying hyphae. The tubular meat ( Hymenophoraltrama ) is different bilateral and corresponds to the boletus type. The partitions ( septa ) of the mushroom threads do not have buckles .
ecology
Exudoporus species form ectomycorrhiza with various deciduous and coniferous trees.
species
The genus Exudoporus comprises three species worldwide, one of which is found in Europe.

Origin of name
The word element 'exsudo-' derives from the Latin verb exsudare "sweat" to SuduS "sweat" and refers to the tubes that secrete in young fruiting bodies drops.
