The Extremadura Cove is a 700 m wide and 400 m long side bay of the Telefon Bay on the northwest side of Port Foster on Deception Island in the archipelago of the South Shetland Islands .
The bay was originally a freshwater lake created as a result of a volcanic eruption in 1967. Spanish scientists discovered in December 2006 that the raised strip of land that separated the lake from Telfon Bay had meanwhile been eroded away, and they decided to name it. The bay is part of a specially protected area in Antarctica (ASPA # 140). Her name means something like at the end of the world bay .
