Bouth is a village in Cumbria , England. It developed on the Lancashire settlement area .
Description, location, short story, buildings
Bouth is located on the Colton River , which is divided into numerous river arms within the local area: Black Beck , Wear Beck , Dick Beck , River Pool and Rusland Pool . Because of the connection to the Atlantic, tidal ranges can also be observed in the waters . To the north and east of the village there are small mountains with heights between 100 and 300 m. Worth mentioning is the Rossland Mosses National Nature Reserve on the northern edge . Surrounding towns are: Haverthwaite , Spark Bridge , Colton , Greenodd , Lowick Green , Backbarrow , Lowick and Rusland .
In earlier centuries the residents ran agriculture on the surrounding land for self- sufficiency , as evidenced by the field names Cow Park , Sheap Gard Wood or Horse Close . Other usable areas bear the names of their first-time investors such as Miller's Wood or Coppies Holmes .
Tourism is the greatest source of income in the 21st century. Holiday apartments have been set up in many historical cottages and are also offered online. In addition, some residents keep pets (chickens, ducks, goats, pigs, cows or horses), which are particularly interesting for families ( holidays on the farm ). Carriage rides and rides complete the offer. A caravan site ( Black Beck Caravaning ) is also not far away. Historic steam engines , cars and other equipment can be viewed in and on the Old Hall Farm or seen in action.
In terms of traffic, the village is connected by a road ( The Causway ) to the A 590 motorway, which runs past to the south. A few access roads run within the local area.
The White Hart Inn was featured on the ITV sitcom Not with a Bang .
The place is surrounded by impressive nature.
