Ezequiel Moreno y Díaz
Ezequiel Moreno y Díaz , OAR (born April 10, 1848 in Alfaro , Spain , † August 19, 1906 in Monteagudo (Navarra) , Spain) is a saint of the Catholic Church .
Life
Ezequiel was a priest and monk in the Augustinian order . He was sent as a missionary to the Philippines and then to Colombia . In 1893 he became Vicar Apostolic of Casanare and Titular Bishop of Pinara , and in 1895 Bishop of Pasto in the south of the country. He contributed significantly to the end of the civil war in this country. It was on October 11, 1992 Pope John Paul II. In Santo Domingo , Dominican Republic , canonized .
His feast day in the liturgy is August 19th .
