Ezeiza , actually José María Ezeiza , is the capital of the Partido of the same name in eastern Argentina , located at the western end of Gran Buenos Aires , the metropolitan area of the capital Buenos Aires . Ezeiza is about 35 kilometers west of the center and has 160,219 inhabitants (2010).

The city was previously part of the Partido Esteban Echeverría , but it experienced rapid growth between 1980 and 2001, which led to the fact that in the early 1990s, a separate partido called Ezeiza was created, which apart from the city itself, a few smaller towns contains.

Ezeiza is best known for its airport, the Aeropuerto Internacional Ministro Pistarini de Ezeiza (IATA code: EZE), which is also popularly known as Aeropuerto de Ezeiza and handles intercontinental air traffic to and from Buenos Aires. Besides Córdoba ( Madrid with Iberia ) it is the only airport in the country that offers flights overseas.
