Ezel ( Turkish [e'zel], German : no beginning or no past ) is a Turkish television series that is about the intrigues of wealthy dodgy casino owners. The background is the break of a naive four-man friendship that mutates into a friendship motivated by money and power . Love and betrayal between enemy and friend go together in this series like in no other Turkish TV series.
action
Ömer is a humble boy who works in a workshop for his family friend Ali. Ali, Cengiz and Ömer have been best friends since childhood. When Ömer returned from his military service in 1997, he was happy to be back with his friends and now hopes to be able to marry his great love Eyşan. What Ömer does not know is that Eyşan, Cengiz and Ali are planning a robbery on a casino because Eyşan needed the money to be able to help their sick sister. A security guard is shot dead during the attack. The three friends betray Ömer and make it appear as if Ömer committed the robbery and murder.
Ömer is arrested by the police and sentenced to lifelong solitary confinement due to Eyşan's false testimony of murder and aggravated robbery that resulted in death. While Ömer tries in prison to find out whether Ali or Cengiz Eyşan forced the false testimony, the friends share the several million looted in the robbery. Ali and Cengiz go their separate ways, because everyone now wants to fulfill their wishes. But Cengiz forces Eyşan to live together, otherwise he wants to inform the police about the murder. That's right for Eyşan, who is pregnant by Ömer.
In the first few years of his imprisonment, Ömer suffered great agony because each of the inmates wanted to know where they hid the money. But then the godfather Ramiz Karaeski takes on Ömers. He believes Ömer and helps him understand that Cengiz came up with the plot of the casino robbery, that Ali, the somewhat aggressive and rude workshop owner, killed the guard and Eyşan led the victim to the wrong place at the wrong time. Now Ramiz and Ömer begin to forge a psychological plan of revenge. In his captivity, Ömer learns the art of poker from Ramiz, the ex-casino owner.
In the eighth year of his imprisonment, riots break out in prison. Many prisoners use the riots to flee. Shortly thereafter, Ömer was pronounced dead because a burned body was discovered in Ömer's bed. But this dead man is an overseer for Ömer who tormented Ömer for years; even during the riots. Ömer was able to flee, but has a disfigured and cut face due to the uprising and the fire. Ramiz's friends give Ömer a new face and thus a new identity. From now on, Ömer is called Ezel (in the broader sense “without beginning”) and is a young billionaire with the financial support of Ramiz.
The three old friends do not recognize Ömer and take Ezel into the circle of close friends. Ezel tries more and more to play the three friends, who are obviously only motivated by money, against each other. Intrigues of the seedy casino owners begin. Over time, Ezel manages to get his revenge bit by bit. In doing so, he takes all of the fortune that he made with the captured money from Cengiz. Ramiz stands by his protégé Ezel and helps him carry out his plan.
