FÜR Karlsruhe is a Christian electoral community that has been represented in the municipal council of the city of Karlsruhe , Baden-Württemberg , since 2009 . The group of voters was founded on December 3, 2008 by a union of Christians in Karlsruhe under the name Together for Karlsruhe (GfK) and has been called FÜR Karlsruhe since 2018 . The founder was Friedemann Kalmbach, who was elected as spokesman, and the German building researcher Jürgen J. Rasch .

history

Legislative period 2009–2014

In the local elections to the community council on June 7th, 2009, the electorate gained 2.4% of the votes and moved with Kalmbach as an individual councilor in the local council. After the elections, the electoral group founded its own association on December 4, 2009 under the name Together for Karlsruhe - (GfK) eV Friedemann Kalmbach was elected as chairman, pastor Harald Bornbaum became deputy.

Mayor election 2012

Friedemann Kalmbach applied as a candidate in 2012 with the support of the FOR Karlsruhe electoral group in the mayoral elections . He achieved 4.46% and came third, behind Ingo Wellenreuther of the CDU and election winner Frank Mentrup of the SPD .

Change of Eduardo Mossuto

In November 2013, during the legislative period, City Councilor Eduardo Mossuto moved from the Free Voters to FÜR Karlsruhe . This gave FOR Karlsruhe two seats in the municipal council.

Legislative period 2014–2019

In the second legislative period, Friedemann Kalmbach was confirmed in the 2014 municipal elections, with him, the footballer Reinhold Yabo , who played for KSC at the time, became the first footballer to join the city ​​council as a city councilor. Reinhold Yabo's political engagement attracted nationwide interest. Jens Diefenbacher succeeded Harald Bornbaum in the association and later took over the chairmanship with Dagmar Hock as deputy. In 2018 Jens Diefenbacher resigned, Susanne Trauth was elected as chairwoman.

Name change

On May 30, 2018, the Kalmbach and Mossuto city councilors, together with the chairwoman of the electoral group, Susanne Trauth, announced a name change from Together for Karlsruhe (GfK) to FOR Karlsruhe . The association gave itself the name of FÜR Karlsruhe - Politics with a Christian Heart Attitude eV
