Félix Saturnin Brissot de Warville (born May 7, 1818 in Véron , † June 26, 1892 in Versailles ) was a French painter.

Life

Félix Brissot was a grandson of Jacques Pierre Brissot . He studied at the École nationale supérieure des beaux-arts de Paris with Léon Cogniet . He specialized in landscape and animal pictures and painted mainly in the Duchy of Berry in the area of Compiègne and in the forest of Fontainebleau . Here he came into contact with the painters of Barbizon . He was later also director of the museums of the Compiègne Palace .

His works are now in French museums as well as the Museum of Fine Arts, Boston , the Brooklyn Museum and the Museo Correale di Terranova in Sorrento .
