Félix Martin-Feuillée (born November 25, 1830 in Rennes , † August 5, 1898 in Derval ) was a French lawyer and politician . From February 1883 to March 1885 he was Minister of Justice.

Life

Félix Martin-Feuillée studied law at the Faculty of Law in Rennes, obtained a doctorate in 1854 with the Thesis De l'action Paulienne , then settled down as a lawyer in his hometown and achieved a great reputation. In 1870 he joined the Mobile Guard of the Département, took part in the defense of Paris and received the Order of the Legion of Honor . Since 1876 he was a member of the Chamber of Deputies for his hometown and joined the republican left. He was on March 4, 1879 under Lepère Undersecretary in the Ministry of the Interior and on December 29, 1879 Undersecretary in the Ministry of Justice, from which post he resigned on January 30, 1882. As a result, he took over on February 21, 1883 in the Ferry II cabinet himself the Ministry of Justice, which he administered until Jules Ferry's resignation (March 30, 1885). He carried out the cleaning of the judiciary from monarchist members. He died on August 5, 1898 at the age of 67 in Derval.
