Félix Valadez Gutiérrez (* 1918 in El Salto , Jalisco ; † 2006 ), also known by the nickname La Rata ( Spanish for "The Rat "), was a Mexican football player in the position of goalkeeper .

Life

Valadez began his football career at his hometown club Club Deportivo Río Grande , which was operated by the textile factory of the same name, Río Grande, where Valadez earned his living.

When professional football was introduced in Mexico in 1943, he moved to the neighboring Club Deportivo Guadalajara , in whose ranks he played the cup game played on June 6, 1943 against city rivals CF Atlas , which was lost 3-1. Thus, Valadez, who later never played in the professional league , was the first player to guard the goal in professional football for Club Deportivo Guadalajara .

After his interlude at Club Deportivo Guadalajara , Valadez returned to his hometown El Salto, where he again worked in the Río Grande textile factory and guarded the goal for the second team of Club Deportivo Río Grande for a few years .
