The Füenf are an a cappella - quintet from Stuttgart .
The band name refers to the number of singers.
history
The band was founded on September 3rd, 1995 by Christian Langer , Jens Heckermann, Patrick Bopp, Ralph Digel and Hartmut Roller in Stuttgart . They had their first appearance on December 4th, 1995, at an a cappella festival in Pforzheim . They have been touring all over Germany since 1996. In 1999 they started to perform with their first show "Die schon wieder ?!"
In 2003 they published their single "Mir im Süd" on Stuttgart tram line 15 . When they ran out of repertoire , they began to sing about stop names with familiar melodies. This was so well received that the Stuttgarter Straßenbahnen AG started the “Singin 'in the Train” project together with the five. In the fall of 2004, 21 sung stop announcements ran off the tape, along with the normal announcement.
On August 16, 2006, the Füenf released their album “Haltestellenlieder” with a trip in a vintage bus across Stuttgart. They had previously received the Land of Ideas award .
The song from “Wulle Sparstrumpf”, sung to the melody “ Hey, Pippi Longstocking ” and with which the resigned Federal President Christian Wulff was mocked, became known nationwide.
On September 27, 2015, the Füenf celebrated their 20th anniversary with a big gala in the Beethovensaal Stuttgart. Patrick Lindner appeared as a secret special guest and sang the Lindner parody "Bring mir die Sonne" together with the band.
In October 2015 the Swabian anthem "Mir in the South" reached number 11 in the hit parade "The greatest hits of all time" by SWR1 . The five celebrated this as surprise guests at the final party in the Schleyerhalle Stuttgart.
In the summer of 2016, the Füenf were on a large open air tour as support with the Pur group .
Since May 2016 they have been touring Germany with their show "5 Engel für Charlie".
