Five Friends For All Occasions is a 26-part Franco-British co-produced animated series that aired on UK Disney Channel from April 5, 2008 to September 27, 2008 . The series is loosely based on Enid Blyton's Five Friends .

content

The main characters are the children of the original Five Friends: Max (Julian's son), Dylan (Dick's son), Allie (Anne's daughter), and Jo (George's daughter), a tomboy who, like her mother, uses a shorter version of her real name (Jyoti) prefers. The fifth in the group is the dog Timmy (actually Timotheus ).

Production and publication

The series was produced in 2008 by Disney Europe, France 3 , Marathon Media Group and Chorion. Directed by Pascal Pinon and Thierry Sapyn, the music was composed by Fabrice Aboulker and Pascal Stive. The producers tried to stay as close as possible to the themes of the book series. The series first aired on April 5, 2008 on Disney Channel in the UK.

From July 19, 2008 it was shown on the German Disney Channel and later also on Toon Disney under the title Five Friends for All Cases . The series has also been running on Super RTL since 2009 . The series has also been translated into Polish, Italian, Spanish and French, among others.

reception

The series was criticized by the Enid Blyton Society because the characters are moved into the modern age and so the audience gets the impression that Five Friends is about "technical gimmicks and multi-culturalism" . The characters are very different from the books and the series doesn't have much in common with Enid Blyton's work.
