The Modern Pentathlon World Championship 1936/1 , also called Pentathlon World Cup, was the third tournament in the discipline of Karambolagebillards and took place from 1 to 7 June 1936 in Malo-les-Bains, the beach area of the French city of Dunkerque (Dunkirk) , instead of. The tournament was part of the 1935/36 season.
history
After two fourth places (1934 and 1935) the Dutchman Jan Sweering became pentathlon world champion for the first time in 1936. The winner of the test world championship 1933 Gaston de Doncker from Belgium secured the second place. Gerd Thielens from Gelsenkirchen won the first World Cup medal in pentathlon for Germany. With 39.72 in the BEVD, he played the best match of the tournament.
