Fürth Mathematics Olympiad

The Fürth Mathematical Olympiad (FüMO) is since 1992 annually in Bavaria taking place mathematics competition . It is aimed at high school students and high school students in grades 5 to 8 and consists of two rounds homework.

Prices

The competition is organized differently depending on the administrative region . In Middle Franconia , for example, the prizes consist of book vouchers, small prizes and an invitation to the FüMO day at the Friedrich-Alexander-Universität Erlangen-Nürnberg . The winners in Lower Bavaria will be invited to a weekend seminar, similar to the Bavarian state mathematics competition .

financing

Creation of the tasks, organization and corrections are almost entirely voluntary. The prizes are financed by sponsors and the Fürther Mathematik-Olympiade eV association.

Others

Due to its similar name, the Fürth Mathematics Olympiad is sometimes confused with the (nationwide) Mathematics Olympiad . There is no direct link, but there is an occasional collaboration.
