Fərəc Qara oğlu Qarayev ( Russian Фарадж Караевич Караев / Faradsch Karajewitsch Karajew ; born December 19, 1943 in Baku ) is an Azerbaijani composer.

Qarayev studied composition at the State Conservatory in Baku with his father, the well-known composer Qara Qarayev . After completing his studies there, he taught composition, orchestration and counterpoint from 1966 to 2003. He has also been a professor at the Moscow Conservatory since 1999 . Since 2003 he has been teaching as a professor at the Kazan State Conservatory ( Tatarstan , Russia ).
