Werner Kofler
Werner Kofler (born July 23, 1947 in Villach , Carinthia ; † December 8, 2011 in Vienna ) was an Austrian writer .
Life
Werner Kofler was the son of a businessman. He broke off training as a teacher at the teacher training institute in Klagenfurt after four years and went on trips. He then carried out various activities. From 1963 he was active in literature; from 1968 he lived as a writer in his adopted home Vienna , but continued to interfere in the political events in Carinthia.
After early, decidedly poetic works, Kofler mainly switched to prose works in which he used the techniques of collage and montage as a means of criticizing language and society . The author was known not least for his insults reminiscent of Thomas Bernhard , which were often directed against the realism of fellow Austrian writers, which Kofler vehemently rejected .
Kofler was a member of the Graz authors 'meeting and the IG authors' authors .
Kofler was buried in an honorary grave in the Vienna Central Cemetery (Group 40, No. 70).
