The F-130 (Fokker 130) is an aircraft type announced since 1998 by the Dutch company Netherlands Aircraft Company (NAC) with a planned seating capacity of 130 to 140 seats. At the same time, an F-90 with 90 seats is to be developed.

The types F-90 and F-130 are further developments based on the Fokker 100 and, in addition to a stretched fuselage, improved avionics , a new cabin design and winglets , are primarily intended to offer lower-emission engines.

The forerunner project of the company, initially called Rekkof Aircraft NV, the also announced aircraft variant F-120NG (Fokker 120 Next Generation), had a planned seating capacity of 120 to 130 seats.

development

The Dutch company Rekkof ( Fokker written backwards) first published plans in 1998 to resume production of the Fokker 70 and 100 with new engines and further improvements. The production of these types was discontinued with the bankruptcy of the Fokker -flugzeugwerke in 1996. The cause of this bankruptcy was, among other things, the withdrawal of the German Daimler Benz Aerospace Aktiengesellschaft (DASA) from a strategic partnership with Fokker that was only concluded in 1992 and the associated lack of resources.

The company, which has since been renamed the Netherlands Aircraft Company (NAC), received EUR 20 million in start-up capital from the Dutch government in 2011 for the project. At the end of 2011 it was announced that Rekkof would open a production facility for the Next Generation in Goiás, Brazil and create over 2,000 jobs.

At the 2012 Farnborough Air and Space Show , the F-120NG concept was presented at its own booth. Provided that the financing was secured, the model should have completed its maiden flight in 2015 and would have been delivered to the first customers from 2017. In the most recently announced configuration, the F-120NG would primarily compete with regional jets such as the A220-100 from Airbus , the E190 from Embraer and the Mitsubishi Regional Jet from Mitsubishi Aircraft Corporation .

In November 2016 there was hardly any new information about the status of the project. Two versions were now planned, the F-90 (100 seats) and F-130 (130 to 140 seats), both with five seats per row. NAC stated that it would be able to make the first deliveries within five years of starting development.

Engines

The F-120NG is planned as a twin - engine low -wing aircraft with jet engines attached to the side of the stern and is to be equipped with PW1217G PurePower engines from Pratt & Whitney and thus achieve 22% less fuel consumption, more thrust and significantly reduced noise emissions.
