The FCC Austria Waste Service AG is an Austrian waste management company with headquarters in Himberg (Austria) that provides services to municipalities, industrial, commercial and retail companies, as well as provides services for individuals in the areas of resource management and citizen services.

history

The company ASA Abfall Service AG was founded in Himberg (Austria) in 1988 by the Österreichische Industrieholding  AG (ÖIAG). The first system was the large-scale sorting system in Asten near Linz.

In 1993 the company was sold to Électricité de France , and the business area expanded to include the CEE countries . 1997–2001 ASA carried out the major project to clean up the Kiener landfill in Upper Austria. In 1999 she became the market leader for hazardous waste in Austria through a 50% stake in the company Killer. In 2001 the central location in Himberg was opened. This was followed by the construction of the mechanical / biological treatment plant in Halbenrain (2003), and the production plants in Himberg and Tainach (both 2004), and the takeover of companies such as Lobbe, Wölger and Peinhopf.

In 2005/06 the ASA was sold on to the Spanish group FCC Fomento de Construcciones y Contratas . In 2007 the Zistersdorf waste incineration plant and a new large site in Linz were built, and the Kreindl company in Freistadt was taken over.

In 2015/17 the complete integration into the FCC Group followed, with renaming and rebranding from ASA to FCC Environment CEE for the Eastern European branches, and FCC Austria for Austria. Himberg continues to be the headquarters for the Eastern European branches, which together operate as the .ASA group .
