history

The FC Café Opera was founded in 1991 as a leisure team and initially appeared in the lower section of the league system. The team was extremely successful in the following years and marched through the league pyramid, at the end of 1996 they rose to the third division. Here they quickly established themselves in the front of the table and, after they had missed the promotion round to the second division by one point in 1998 as third in the table, won their third division season in 1999. Since a single-track second division was introduced with the Superettan , the team had to survive several rounds of promotion. As the winner, she then played against the second division club Gefle IF in two relegation games and after a 0-0 draw in her own place after a 2-2 draw in the second leg, thanks to the away goals rule, prevailed.

In the second division, the FC Café Opera sat directly in the front half of the table, in the second division season 2001 , the team achieved the best result in the club's history as fifth. In the meantime, the club had signed a cooperation agreement with the first division AIK , which enabled young players to gain experience with the second division. When the cooperation partner relegated from the Swedish House of Lords at the end of the 2004 season, he pushed for a merger of the club with third-rate local rivals Väsby IK . At the beginning of 2005, therefore, the team of the FC Café Opera went into the newly founded club Väsby United . Under the name FC Djursholm United , the club continued to play in the lower-class league area.

Stages

During its second division membership, FC Café Opera initially played in the Stockholm Olympic Stadium , but due to the relatively low number of spectators, the club later switched to the Kristinebergs IP in Stockholm's Kungsholmen district .
