The FC 07 Furtwangen is a football club with about 600 members from Furtwangen in the Black Forest . With over 180 young people, FC 07 Furtwangen has one of the largest youth departments in the region. The club takes part in the round games with ten youth teams.
history
On June 2, 1907, Karl Hummel, Karl Hirt, August Kirner, Karl Heim and Josef Tomscha founded a football club in the “Fortuna” inn. Karl Hummel was elected as the first chairman and Karl Hirt as the first captain . The first official game on August 15, 1907 was won against FC 04 Gütenbach with 8-0 goals. In 1925 the first team won the district A-class championship and played in this class from 1926 to 1930. The greatest success in the club's recent history was winning the South Baden Club Cup in 1970. In July 1970, the first team then played a game in the South German Cup , a regional qualifying competition for participation in the DFB Cup , against the then regional division FC Villingen and lost in front of over 2000 spectators with 1: 2 goals. In 1972 the women's team officially joined FC 07. In addition, they were represented in the first amateur league Black Forest-Bodensee for one season in 1960/61 and 1971/72 .
In the years 1975 to 1977 the city of Furtwangen began with the expansion of the stadium and the changing building. A lawn with a running track and a changing building were created. The stadium was inaugurated to coincide with the 70th anniversary of FC 07. It should also be worth mentioning that from 1956 to 1982 FC 07 always belonged to the 1st and 2nd amateur leagues at the time.
In the 1983/1984 season, Urban Klausmann returned to his home country after his career as a professional footballer had ended. With him as player-coach and with his 45 goals scored, he was promoted back to the national league. A year later, FC 07 Furtwangen became champions in the regional league season 3 and was promoted to the southern Baden association league . In the final, they won the championship title at FC Neustadt . As a high-light applies this year the performance of the Hamburger SV , the then football European champions in Furtwanger Bregstadion. The year 1994 was dominated by the opening of the new clubhouse, the official home of FC 07 Furtwangen. The number of youth players rose above the 200 mark for the first time this year, which was a major challenge for the youth department due to the lack of infrastructure. The 1998/1999 season saw the sporting low point for FC 07 in its club history. The 1st team was relegated to the district league B despite the relegation game they won in Hinterzarten .
Current
In the 2009/10 season, FC 07 Furtwangen had two active teams at the start. The first team plays in the regional league season 3 in the southern Baden area .
